The following incidents and arrests are some but not all of the reports filed with SSPD over the listed period, dated through June 15.
The following information was provided by the Sandy Springs Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.
1800 block of Hampton Drive 30350 – On June 6, a food-delivery driver said that he was robbed by two people while making a delivery at around 10:30 p.m. at an apartment complex. The suspects got a small amount of cash.
1500 block of Hampton Drive 30350 – On June 10, a man reported that three men followed him on foot from the QT gas station on Roswell Road to his apartment complex and then robbed him, taking $35.
700 block of Hammond Drive 30328 – On June 11, a woman reported that she and her husband left a hotel in their car. A short time later, a man who, according to the victim, was hiding in the car’s back seat, popped up and began speaking Spanish to her and her husband. She determined that they were being robbed. Her husband, who was sitting in the passenger seat, told her to drive to an ATM to get money. When they got to the ATM, her husband ran off. The suspect ordered the woman to drive away. He then got out of the car and ran off. She reported only a cellphone was missing.
7300 block of Roswell Road 30328 – On June 2, someone threw a rock through a window of a beauty supply business during the night. Nothing was reported missing at the time of the report.
1500 block of Huntcliff Village Court 30350 – On June 4, someone broke into the storage area of an apartment complex.
600 block of Bittersweet Trail 30328 – On June 4, the victim said that just before 4 a.m., an alarm activated. The victim saw two persons at the rear of the location with flashlights. It appears that the two were in the kitchen area and then exited through a window when the alarm activated. The victim was unable to give a description of the suspects.
5900 block of Peachtree Dunwoody Road 30328 – On June 5, an employee of a financial business said that when he arrived at work he found that a window had been broken out and a laptop was missing.
800 block of Calibre Springs Way 30342 – On June 6, the victim said that when she returned home from work, her door was unlocked. She said she found several items had been taken from her apartment.
1000 block of Brentwood Drive 30350 – On June 6, a woman reported she left her apartment for about two and a half hours. When she returned, she found that someone had taken her television.
4700 block of Roswell Road 30342 – On June 7, a man reported that someone broke into his apartment and stole $500 cash. He thinks they entered through an unlocked bedroom window sometime during the day.
1000 block of Old Dominion Drive 30350 – On June 8, officers responded to an alarm just before 1 p.m. and found that someone had forced entry to the home and stole several items. The intruder escaped before the officer’s arrival.
1700 block of Summit Place 30350 – On June10, a woman reported that someone opened a bedroom window between 3 and 4 a.m. while she and her boyfriend were sleeping. She noticed that her purse and his phone were missing.
1000 block of Abernathy Road 30328 – On June 11, a business office burglary was reported. A window was broken out and a laptop was taken.
5600 block of Roswell Road 30342 – On June 13, the apartment resident reported that someone burglarized his apartment, taking a camera, passport, three Larry Mahan hats, a plasma TV and a laptop.
5600 block of Roswell Road 30342 – On June 2, a woman reported that she believes her roommate stole her laptop, valued at $1500.
6100 block of Peachtree Dunwoody Road 30328 – On June 4, a hotel manager reported that a guest checked out. Later, hotel officials found a television was missing from that room.
200 block of Granville Court 30328 – On June 5, a man reported that someone stole his red Suzuki motorcycle.
Northwood Drive 30342 – On June 5, a man reported his 1998 Nissan 200-SX was stolen from his apartment complex.
7800 block of Roswell Road 30350 – On June 5, a woman reported that her daughter left her phone on top of a gumball machine during dinner. They left, but when they returned to the restaurant, the phone was gone.
5700 block of Spring Creek Lane 30350 – On June 6, a man reported that his roommate moved out and apparently took a laptop, cologne, and a bag of clothing with him. The roommate apparently moved to New York.
1600 block of Monterrey Parkway 30350 – On June 6, two people reported that while they were in jail, they trusted another guy to secure their apartment. The other guy stole their video game systems, DVD player, and other items. The suspect also accessed the victim’s bank account number from the phone he stole and charged pizza and Chinese food on the account.
400 block of Brookfield Drive 30328 – On June 7, a man reported that he suspects the cable man of stealing a pair of sunglasses and a jar of coins.
1100 block of Mt. Vernon Highway 30328 – On June 8, a man reported that while he was playing basketball at LA Fitness, someone stole his phone. The GPS on the phone indicated it was at an address in Dunwoody before cutting off.
4800 block of Roswell Road 30342 – On June 8, a man reported that a ring, owned by his mother, was taken from her room in her assisted living facility. The ring is valued at $200.
900 block of Spring Creek Drive 30350 – On June 8, the victim reported someone stole his 2002 Chrysler Sebring.
2000 block of Dunwoody Club Drive 30350 – On June 9, a woman said she forgot her purse at a grocery store. When she returned to get it, it was gone. She said the purse contained personal ID, credit cards and $100 cash.
8200 block of Colquitt Road 30350 – On June 10, a woman said that her on-again-off-again boyfriend came to her residence with a key and accused her of cheating on him. He took her phone and left.
200 block of Northridge Drive 30350 – On June 10, a woman reported she left her wallet at a restaurant and when she returned about two minutes later, $125 in cash was missing from the wallet.
A woman, age 95, reported that someone stole and later cashed her Social Security check valued at $876.
600 block of Trowbrook Court – A basketball hoop and stand was reported stolen.
5600 block of Peachtree Dunwoody Road 30342 – On June 14, a parking deck employee of St. Joseph’s Hospital said a car drove onto the sidewalk and left to avoid paying $6 for parking. The tag was obtained.

A man called about a fraud on his debit card. Someone accessed his number and charged $2,000 on the card.
Another man said someone accessed his card number and used it at Taqueria La Dona on Northwood Drive and charged over $800.
A woman reported that someone used her Social Security number to file taxes in her name in the state of New Jersey. On the same day, another person filed a similar report.
A man reported on June 8 that someone stole his IRS refund check from his mailbox and later cashed it, forging the victim’s name.
8300 block of Roswell Road 30350 – On June 11, a 26-year-old woman reported that she made contact with a modeling agency in Santa Monica, Calif. Two women were in touch with the victim and convinced her to send money to them in order to receive clothes to model in. They obtained her bank information and withdrew $1,486 from her checking account.
5900 block of Roswell Road 30328 – On June 11, the manager of a check-cashing store said a customer paid with a counterfeit $20. The fake bill was not discovered until after the sale. No suspects.
8600 block of Roswell Road — An employee of a bar said a customer left a counterfeit $20 as a tip. The server told the man it was a fake, so the customer tore it up and gave her a real $20—or so she thought. Turns out the man dropped three fake $20s.
A woman reported that someone opened a Sprint account in her name. She found out when the bill came to her house.
A man reported that someone used his personal information to order Dish satellite service.
A woman reported that someone used her personal info and Social Security number to file for a tax refund in her name.
200 block of Hammond Drive 30328 – On June 4, a man said he was at work and during this time he was reading over his school work. The manager came over and told him to study at school and not at work. He then grabbed the school books and threw them at the victim. The manager ordered the victim to leave. He did not. According to the victim, the manager picked him up and pushed him against the wall, and then removed him from the restaurant.
7400 block of Roswell Road 30350 – On June 5, a woman called police and said she was watching a football game at a local high school and got into an argument with another woman concerning the man she is dating. The other woman grabbed her around the neck and pushed her down onto the metal bleacher seats.
4900 block of Roswell Road 30342 – On June 10, around 2 a.m., a patrol car spotted a man staggering while crossing Roswell Road in an intoxicated state. The man was also injured. He told the officers that a 45-year-old man assaulted him outside of a grocery store. The victim had scratches on his head and a bloody nose. He was taken and turned over to his wife and brother after refusing medical treatment.
1700 block of Windridge Drive 30350 – On June 10, cops responded to a domestic fight just before 6 a.m. They found a man sitting on the steps outside of his apartment. He had no shirt on. He told the officers that his ex-girlfriend had locked him out of his apartment. He said that he had recently come home and was in bed when his ex-girlfriend came into the bedroom yelling at him. She jumped on the bed and rolled the mattress over him (known in the business as the “Pig in Blanket Assault”) and then continued jumping on the bed until it broke. He said his ex-girlfriend continued to hit him all the while holding her 1-year-old child in her arms as a shield.
The man told the officers that they broke up a month ago, but he stayed because of the lease. The woman said that he had assaulted her. Both party’s mothers were called and came to the scene, each taking up for her child. The ex-girlfriend was taken to jail because she was a primary aggressor in a domestic fight. The man also was charged.
300 block of Meadowbrook Drive 30328 – On June 10, a man said that his ex-wife came over, wanting to reconcile with him. He said no. She said “OK, I guess I’ll have to get nasty.” She then left. Afterwards, he discovered that his phone was missing. The officer called the ex-wife and retrieved the phone from her. The victim did not want to prosecute.
Officers arrested a man at a bar after responding to a disturbance. The man was heavily intoxicated and tried to fight an employee of the bar. The man was checked and found to be wanted in Moultrie, Ga. on a probation violation.
1000 block of Johnson Ferry Road 30342 – On June 4, cops were called to Northside Hospital concerning a woman who was intoxicated. They checked her and found that she was wanted in DeKalb County on a probation warrant. She was taken to jail.
5000 block of Spalding Drive 30350 – On June 5, someone took a landscaping truck (keys inside) from the location while the employees were working in the yard of a home. One employee activated the GPS on the truck and it was tracked to Iona Drive in DeKalb County. Two men were later arrested.
5800 block of Roswell Road 30328 – On June 11, a man was arrested after a bar employee reported that he tried to pay for his drinks with a counterfeit $100 bill. The responding officer confronted the man, who then tried to toss something from his pocket to behind the patrol car. The crumpled items were other fake $100 bills. The man was charged with forgery in the first degree and taken to jail.
6300 block of Peachtree Dunwoody Road 30328 – On June 11, one woman was arrested for shoplifting two Guess dresses and Nicorette gum into her bag and then trying to leave Costco without paying. Value of the theft was just under $100. She was arrested.
7000 block of Stonington Drive 30328 – On June 12, responding to a burglary call just before 3 p.m., officers were told to watch for a suspect and located a man fitting the description. He was standing along a wood line near a condo. The man said he was in the area to use his cellphone. They found a backpack in the woods that contained some marijuana and papers with his name. He was charged with the marijuana possession.
A woman reported that her boyfriend called her 35 times at her workplace.
Another woman reported that she is receiving unwanted phone calls from not only her ex-boyfriend but his new girlfriend too.
8700 block of Roswell Road 30350 – on June 11, an employee of a check-cashing store reported that a man threatened to shoot him because his store did not offer “moneygram” service.
800 block of Spring Creek Lane 30350 – On June 12, a woman reported that she and her roommate got into a dispute and her roommate moved out and stole her kitten.
900 block of Crestline Parkway 30342 – On June 15, detectives went to a hotel on a drug complaint. As they made their way to the room on the fourth floor, they spotted a man who, when he saw the detectives, hastily walked away. Another officer had spotted the same person moments before, carrying a blue bag. The man was stopped and checked. He was wanted for a probation violation in Cartersville, Ga. Another officer found the bag that contained drugs — heroin, pills, and marijuana — along with three guns. The man was arrested.
