Last night, July 3, was a busy one for the  Sandy Springs Fire and Police Departments as heavy rains toppled trees, leading to road closures.

The city also dealt with a brush fire, according to its Facebook page.

City Spokeswoman Sharon Kraun said the storms knocked down eight trees including one that fell on a woman in her car, causing minor injuries.

The city reported trees down at Wright Road, Tanacrest Drive, River Valley Road and Amberidge Trail.

The city temporarily closed Wright Road. Two lanes of Roswell Road at Abernathy were briefly closed because of storm drain damage, the city says.
