Dunwoody Police Chief Billy Grogan spoke to the Dunwoody City Council June 11 about his plan to increase the city’s police department by 18 people, including sworn officers and support staff, over the next five years. The council has not yet approved Grogan’s request.

“I am very cognizant of the city of Dunwoody’s limited financial resources and the competing needs of all of the departments; however, I believe public safety should be the first priority of government,” Grogan said in a memo to the council. “These requested positions are critical components of a wellthought out plan to improve the safety of our community.”
