From police reports dated through June 30.

The following information was provided to the Buckhead Reporter by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.

Assault

1200 block of Marietta Boulevard, NW – An aggravated assault at a nightclub was reported on June 24. An officer, responding to a fight call, saw a man with a laceration to the back of his head. Blood had dripped onto his chest and ear. The man said as he was leaving the club he exchanged words with another man. Then he was hit in the head with a bottle and that’s all he remembered. EMTs came on the scene to treat the victim. The suspect could not be found.

100 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – An aggravated assault at a restaurant was reported on June 24. The victim and witness both said that the suspect attacked the victim with a kitchen tool. The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct/fighting.

1000 block of Seaboard Avenue, NW – An aggravated assault at a residence was reported on June 27. Two men were arguing and started fighting. Witnesses said one of them left the room and retrieved a handgun, which was used to pistol whip the other man’s face and head. The handgun and other personal items were turned in as evidence. A check of ACIC said the gun was not stolen. Both men complained of injuries and were taken for treatment.

700 block of Morosgo Drive, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on June 27. An unidentified woman assaulted another woman by throwing a parcel box at her after a minor altercation at the counter at the post office.

2300 block of Cheshire Bridge Road, NE –An aggravated assault was reported on June 28. The arrestee caused injuries to the victim’s forearm, then spit in his face.

1700 block of Commerce Drive, NW – An aggravated assault at a residence was reported on the morning of June 28. A woman said her boyfriend became violent after they were involved in a verbal dispute. The man threatened to hit her in the head with a glass bottle. She made several attempts to make a 911 call, but the man snatched her cellphone and denied her entry into another part of the home where she could place a 911 call. He was apprehended and taken to Fulton County Jail.

I-75 NB/Northside Drive Highway, NW – An aggravated assault was reported on June 29. An officer was dispatched to the hospital on a “person shot” call. Upon arrival, he spoke with a man who said his wife was driving northbound on I-75 when a man produced a handgun from a dark sedan. The sedan was traveling in front of their vehicle. The man started shooting at their vehicle and hit his wife. She pulled over and he got into the driver’s seat and called 911 as he drove to the hospital. He said that the other vehicle was a SUV and the man was shooting with a long gun.

Robbery

400 block of Collier Road, NW – A pedestrian robbery was reported on June 26. A man said that while in the park, a man and woman approached him and his friend. The man had a 9mm pistol and the woman had a .38 pistol. The two suspects told them to give up money, keys and a purse. The suspects then stole several items from the victim’s vehicle.  Fingerprints were lifted from the vehicle.

1900 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A robbery at a nightclub was reported on June 26. A woman said she went to a nightclub with her boyfriend.  When the two left the club, she was pushed down the stairs by an unknown woman from the club. She was beaten and robbed by the unknown woman.  A witness said that the other woman was the man’s girlfriend.

Burglary

200 block of Colonial Homes Drive, NW – A residential burglary was reported on June 24. While the resident was in the process of moving, a friend of the roommate went into the residence and took seven pairs of shoes and an entertainment center valued at $10,000. The suspect sold the shoes at a local establishment, Plato’s Closet. The man was caught on tape in the store. The check received was canceled by Plato’s.

2000 block of Defoors Ferry Road, NW – A commercial burglary was reported on June 26. The owner found the front door glass broken and the store entered. The safe was also broken into and money removed. There are no cameras at the location.

1000 block of Garden View Drive, NE – A burglary at an apartment was reported on June 27. One woman said that she and her roommate left the residence and when they returned the place was in disarray. Upon further inspection several items were missing, including two laptops, laptop speakers, a laptop bag and an iPhone charger.

1100 block of Mantissa Street, NW – A residential burglary was reported on June 29. Unidentified suspect(s) entered the residence by removing a window panel to open the rear door. They took two firearms, jewelry, medicine, electronics and a bag.

Larceny

1400 block of Pine Street, NW – A larceny from a residence was reported on June 23. The suspect entered a woman’s back yard and stole her dog.

1800 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny from a discount store was reported on June 25. The loss prevention officer said that a woman had used a fraudulent credit card. The suspect said the card was not hers, and that she bought the card from a gentleman. She had other items in her bags that had not been paid for. She was charged with credit card fraud and theft by shoplifting.

3200 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a gym was reported on June 25. The                victim’s cellphone, wallet, ring, watch, credit cards and driver’s license were taken from a locked locker. No cameras in the locker room.

300 block of Peachtree Hills Avenue, NE – A larceny from a residence was reported on June 25.            A woman’s potted plant was stolen from her balcony.

2500 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A larceny from a discount store was reported on June 26. Asset protection saw the suspect remove tags, then conceal lingerie, a mini TV/DVD player and a soda, then pass all points of sale. The suspect was arrested and the items were returned.

2200 block of Cornet Way, NW – A larceny was reported on June 27. An unknown suspect used a woman’s social security number to open a Sprint cellphone account, running up an outstanding bill of $1,609.26 in her name.

1800 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny from a discount store was reported on June 27.  A loss prevention officer observed a man removing items, valued at $218, from the original packaging and placing them in his pocket.  The man discarded the packaging in other parts of the store and passed all points of sale. He was arrested and found with a spark plug in his pocket. The suspect had previously been arrested over 50 times for theft by taking, shoplifting, theft by receiving, entering an auto and burglary.

1800 block of Ridgeway Avenue, NW – A larceny from a residence was reported on the morning of June 27. An unknown suspect stole the victim’s lawn mower from the porch of his home.

600 block of Cumberland Road, NE – A larceny from a residence was reported on June 27. A man said that several items were stolen from in front of his house.  He said he emptied his car and placed the items on the grass and someone came and took them.  Among the items stolen were one pair of Tiger Woods golf shoes, one golf umbrella, a 3-wood, two drivers, and other golf clubs.

3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a department store was reported on June 28. Loss prevention said an employee was seen taking a $20 bill from the register. The employee later admitted to taking the money and wrote a signed statement detailing his actions. The $20 was recovered and returned. The man was taken into custody for theft by taking and transported to jail.

1100 block of Lavista Road, NE – A larceny from an apartment complex was reported on June 29. The victims saw a man going into their mailboxes. He fled the scene upon officers’ arrival. The man ran into the woods and dropped a backpack filled with credit cards, checks and other items. The postal police was notified.

1300 block of Northside Drive, NW – A larceny in a parking lot was reported on June 30. A group of juveniles surrounded a man and removed his Kindle Fire from his hands.  The same group of juveniles also stole two bottles of wine from a liquor store nearby.

3200 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a restaurant was reported on June 30. Four suspects took cash from a tip jar and ran out of the location.  There is video footage of the incident.

Larceny from Auto

3100 block of Mathieson Drive, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on June 27. A woman said that she left her vehicle unlocked while she unloaded items. On her final trip she found that her purse had been taken. Her wallet, debit card, credit card, $60 cash, and an iPhone were in the purse. There were no cameras facing the location. There was tracking on the phone, but it had been turned off.

3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from an auto in a parking garage was reported on June 29.  A man said an unknown person used a spark plug to break out a rear tail gate window and remove three duffle bags that were concealed in the rear of the vehicle.  After a canvas of the staircase area, all three bags were recovered with contents still in place. It was apparent that the suspect went through the bags but did not take any of the items.

1200 block of W. Paces Ferry Road, NE – A larceny from an auto in a parking lot was reported on June 29. A witness said suspects pulled up next to the victim’s vehicle in a silver Lexus 300ES, smashed the window, and grabbed a bag out of the vehicle.

Auto Theft

900 block of Courtenay Drive, NE – An auto theft was reported on the evening of June 29. The victim’s 1996 Jeep Cherokee was stolen by an escaped patient who took the victim’s keys.
