About 1,000 more voters cast their ballots in favor of creating the new city of Brookhaven than voted against the new city in the July 31 election.
But voters supporting the city were not spread evenly across the 12 precincts that will be included in the new municipality. Half of the precincts reported more “no” than “yes” votes.
