From police reports dated through July 28.

The following information was provided to the Buckhead Reporter by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.

Assault

1500 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – An aggravated assault at an apartment was reported on July 15.  The suspect threw a knife at one victim and held another at knife point. The suspect was arrested on the scene.

3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – An aggravated assault at a hotel was reported on July 15. The victim got into a dispute with the suspect. The suspect slammed a vehicle door on the victim’s hand.  The suspect then went into the hotel.

300 block of Pharr Road, NE – An aggravated assault at a nightclub was reported on July 17. A man was seen walking up to the victim and hitting him in the face, possibly breaking his nose.

1900 block of Piedmont Road, NE – An aggravated assault at a nightclub was reported on July 20. A woman said that she was hit by a glass bottle. After she was hit, she saw a female whom she had a verbal altercation with earlier walking away. The victim never saw who threw the bottle. She had a laceration to the face.

2400 block of Cornet Way, NW – An aggravated assault was reported at an apartment on July 22. A man said he was called to the suspect’s residence to retrieve his things after they agreed to break up. While inside the residence, the suspect began taking items from the packing box and hiding them. When the victim attempted to retrieve his items from the suspect, he was stabbed with a fork. The victim then attempted to make a 911 call from his cellphone at which time the suspect snatched the phone and placed it in water.  It was at that time the man said he punched the suspect and fled to make a 911 call from a friend’s phone. Upon arrival of domestic violence units, the suspect was determined to be the primary aggressor and was arrested.

1800 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – An aggravated assault was reported on July 23.  The victim was hit in the face with a skateboard by an unknown man.

1900 block of Piedmont Circle, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on July 25. The suspect cut the victim’s finger with a dagger. The victim said the suspect also threw a machete at him. The victim refused transport by Grady. The suspect left the scene before police arrived.

Robbery

1300 block of Dupont Commons Circle, NW – A residential robbery was reported on July 18. A woman said two men forced their way into the home and duct taped her. They produced a handgun and pointed it to her head and demanded money. She said the men took laptop computers from the home. She was not injured.

1300 block of Monroe Drive, NE – A commercial robbery was reported on July 21. A parking booth attendant was sitting with his back to the entry door of the booth and the door was unlocked.  A suspect approached the booth, opened the door and demanded money while holding a knife toward the attendant.  The suspect took $800 and ran away on foot.  The victim was not injured.

4200 block of Regency Court, NW – A pedestrian robbery was reported on July 23. An unidentified man approached the victim while he was unloading his vehicle and told him to give him the leaf blower. At the time of the inciden,t the suspect was holding an unidentified object in his hand.

1600 block of Peachtree Street, NW – A pedestrian robbery was reported on July 24.  A man said he was approached inside the Amtrak station by the subject who was panhandling. When the subject asked the man for money, he displayed his wallet and the contents of $10. When the man informed the subject that was all the money he had, the subject snatched the wallet and money, subsequently fleeing the scene. The victim was able to catch up with the subject, at which time a fight ensued. The victim was hit with crutches about the face, head and body. A witness driving in the area confirmed to units that the victim was shouting “give me back my wallet and money” at the time of the incident. A review of Amtrak video footage corroborated the victim’s story. The money and wallet were recovered off the suspect.

2100 block of Defoors Ferry Road, NW – A robbery was reported on July 26.  A man said he was walking in front of a gas station when he was approached by another man, who appeared to be 20 to 22 years of age and who asked him for some money to buy food because he was hungry. When the victim told the suspect no, the suspect snatched the man’s wallet and took $100. The suspect also grabbed the victim’s sunglasses, but threw them on the ground. The victim said he tackled the suspect to the ground but the suspect was able to leave the scene. The officer dusted the sunglasses for prints but none of quality were found.

500 block of Northside Circle, NW – A robbery was reported on July 27. The victims said that the suspect produced a handgun and advised them not to look at him.  The suspect then took $150 from the victims and locked them in a bathroom. The victims were working laying carpet in an apartment.

Burglary

2600 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A commercial burglary was reported on July 16. Officers, upon arrival, found the front doors of the location open and the glass door shattered. Upon reviewing video footage, two suspects, wearing all black, came into the store, possibly holding pry bars, and went to the back and tried to open a safe. The suspects were unsuccessful, and ran back out leaving a skull cap at the front door. The cap was turned in for evidence.

2100 block of Alexander Circle, NE –A residential burglary at an apartment was reported on July 16. A woman went out of town and when she returned she noticed several items were missing from her apartment. There were             no signs of forced entry. She said maintenance personnel performed services in her apartment while she was out of town, and she suspects them.

3400 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A commercial burglary was reported on July 18. The glass window of the business was broken out, the cash register drawers were taken, there were bags lying on the floor near the cash register. No signs of force on the cash register.

3100 block of Alexander Circle, NE – A residential burglary was reported on July 20. Officers discovered that the apartment had been forcibly entered through the front door. The alarm system was ripped out of the wall, and a 47-inch and a 35-inch TV were taken along with a laptop computer.

1300 block of Northside Drive, NW – A residential burglary was reported on July 24.  A woman said her home was burglarized by her ex-boyfriend. The door was pried open, and a laptop, ear buds and cellphone charger were stolen. Her ex-boyfriend called and said, “Did you call the police yet?”

Peachtree Valley Road, NE – A residential burglary was reported on July 27. A man said when he came home his apartment was broken into.  Jewelry, a passport, a rifle, two laptops, a knife and underwear were reported taken.

Larceny

3200 block of Roswell Road, NE – A larceny from a nightclub was reported on July 15. A woman said her purse was found in the men’s restroom and all of her contents were missing except for her car keys.

2000 block of Bolton Road, NW – A larceny from a gas station was reported on July 17. The victims parked their bicycles outside of the station and went inside.  When they returned, they saw three men wearing red shirts get on their two bikes and ride off.

1700 block of Peachtree Street, NE – A larceny was reported on July 17. The reporting person said that upon returning to the business, he discovered that two TVs were stolen from the outside patio.

2100 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A larceny was reported on July 20. A man said he placed a boot on an illegally placed vehicle. A man and two women tried to negotiate a price. The victim told them the price for removing the boot. The other man then attempted to remove boot. The victim called police at which point the suspect got into the vehicle and drove off with the boot.

3500 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a specialty store was reported on July 20. An off- duty unit was alerted by store staff that two men entered the store, selected several purses and exited, subsequently fleeing in a stolen vehicle. Patrol units spotted the suspects’ vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. While on the Interstate, the suspects abandoned the vehicle and took officers on a foot chase. One suspect was apprehended after he had to be pepper sprayed for failure to obey officers’ commands. The other two got away.  All of the items taken in the snatch and grab were recovered and returned to the respective businesses. The vehicle was confirmed to be reported stolen. The suspect received minor injuries to both hands while attempting to flee from officers. He was treated on the scene.

2100 block of Peachtree Road, NW – A larceny was reported on July 20. The reporting person said the suspect was sitting in the lobby of the business. When she left the front desk office area and returned a short time later, she discovered that the suspect was gone and $180 dollars from the cash

register also was missing.

1800 block of Peachtree Road, NW – A larceny from a gas station was reported on July 21. The suspect came into business, took two 18-packs of beer and ran out. A witness was able to stop the suspect and get the beer back. The witness said the suspect had previously come into the business and taken two packs of beer on two separate days, stealing a total of $100 worth of goods.

3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a department store was reported on July 23. Loss prevention officers saw a man select a pair of sunglasses and place them into his right pocket. He left the store without paying. The glasses were recovered after it was shown on store surveillance that the subject tossed the glasses under a car in the parking lot. Upon apprehension, the glasses were recovered and the juvenile given a copy of the charges.

2400 block of Piedmont Road, NE –A larceny was reported on July 26. An unknown man was seen on video crawling behind the counter and taking the victim’s wallet and placing it in his pants, then walking out of the store.

100 block of Elysian Way, NW – A larceny at an apartment complex was reported on July 27.  A woman said she went to the pool at her condominium and placed her cellular device on a table next to the pool while she went swimming. When she returned to the table, the device was missing.

3300 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A larceny was reported on July 27. The victim works at the location and said she left a bottle of pills in another area while she was cleaning and returned to find only six pills left in the bottle. She also said she left her purse unattended and when she returned the purse had brand new makeup inside.

Larceny from Auto

2900 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on July 27. The suspect, an employee of a car wash, serviced a 2009 Land Rover.  The suspect stole a pistol from the vehicle and it was later found in the location’s restroom. The suspect was arrested.

3300 block of Lenox Road, NE – A larceny from an auto at a hotel was reported on July 27. A woman said she parked her vehicle on the third level parking deck of a hotel one evening and when she returned to her vehicle the next morning, her driver’s side key hole and driver window were damaged. Nothing was taken from her vehicle. While talking to the victim, another woman walked over to the officer and said her vehicle was broken into as well. Her driver’s side key hole was damaged and her driver’s side back window was broken. She said one injection device for growth hormones, valued at $650, was taken from her vehicle.

Auto Theft

2400 block of Cheshire Bridge Road, NE – An auto theft was reported on July 17. A man said he picked up another man at 3:30 a.m. and took him back to his apartment. When the victim woke up he discovered that his car keys and vehicle was were missing.

I-75 South @ Howell Mill, NW – An auto theft was reported on July 23.            A woman said she left her vehicle on the side of the road after running out of gas. When she returned to retrieve her vehicle it was missing. She said she called around to various tow yards thinking the vehicle was impounded. She was later told the vehicle could not be located.

700 block of Park Regency Place, NE – An auto theft from a parking garage was reported on July 24. A man said that upon returning from out of town he discovered that his vehicle had been moved to another location in the parking deck and items were missing from his vehicle. The vehicle was left unlocked and a set of keys to the vehicle was left inside.

2400 block of Claude Street, NW – An auto theft from a garage was reported on July 26. A man said that he parked his vehicle, and when he woke up the next morning, he discovered that his vehicle was missing from the driveway. He said he had a push mower stolen from the location as well.
