From police reports dated through Aug. 25.

The following information was provided to the Buckhead Reporter by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.

Assault

2100 block of Piedmont Road, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on Aug. 12. Units were called after two passersby noticed a man yelling for help inside the parking garage at the complex. While waiting for police to respond, the witnesses said the man repeated “Apartment 2.” When units arrived on the scene and canvassed the area, they discovered blood droplets in the doorway of Apt. 2222 and its lock damaged. Police also noticed a man’s luggage lying just under the balcony area. The man was unable to tell investigators on the scene what took place.

2100 block of Marietta Boulevard, NW – An aggravated assault was reported on Aug. 19. There was an argument between the victim and the suspect.  The victim splashed water on the suspect and the suspect cut the victim’s right index finger with a pocket knife.

4100 block of Club Drive, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on Aug. 21.  A woman said she and her husband were arguing and he grabbed her around the neck and forced her to the ground. She refused medical treatment and had bruises on her arms.

1900 block of Peachtree Road, NW – An aggravated assault was reported on Aug. 22. A man said he was carjacked and stabbed with scissors; he then changed his story and said he had gotten into an altercation with a woman.  He would not provide information on her.

Rose Court, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on Aug. 23. A woman said she went home on her lunch break and discovered her son throwing items out of the house. When she approached him and asked for a reason, she said her son assaulted her and struck her with an unknown object she believed to be a bat. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived. She was transported and treated for injuries she received during the assault.

2400 block of Parkland Drive, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on Aug. 23. A woman said her boyfriend, the suspect, came home and found her friend in bed with her. The boyfriend took a helmet and swung at the friend. The two men started wrestling. The suspect then pushed her as he was leaving.

Robbery      

3500 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A commercial robbery was reported on Aug. 15. A man said he was confronted by two suspects who were waiting by the door; one of the suspects held a gun to his face and demanded money from the safe. The man told the suspect that he did not have a key to the safe and only the general manager had a key. The suspect took money out of the cash register and both suspects fled.

500 block of Garson Drive, NE – A pedestrian robbery was reported on Aug. 19. Three men in a dark color sedan approached a man while he was standing outside his vehicle, presented a handgun and demanded the keys to his vehicle. They left the location with the suspect’s vehicle and the victim’s rental car.

1100 block of Huff Road, NW – A pedestrian robbery was reported on Aug. 22. The victims staid they were sitting in their vehicle when two men parked a white Acura behind them. The men approached their vehicle and asked for a cigarette. One of the suspects then started punching one of the victims and demanded her purse. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and hit one of the victims over the head. A purse, iPad and cash were stolen.

200 block of Pharr Road, NE – A robbery was reported on Aug. 22. The suspect struck the victim in the head multiple times at the apartment and took money from the victim.

1500 block of Chattahoochee Avenue, NW – A pedestrian robbery was reported on Aug. 25. Four men in a white Toyota with a drive-out tag robbed the three victims at gun point, taking cash and gold items.

Burglary

1600 block of Ellsworth Industrial Boulevard, NE – A commercial burglary was reported on Aug. 10. The caller said that upon arriving at work he discovered that a rear glass window was broken and forced entry had been made. He also said that a box containing expensive food items was taken.

1700 block of Harper Street, NW – A residential burglary was reported on Aug. 13. A man said the suspect was inside his garage sleeping without permission.  The victim held the suspect at gunpoint until police arrived on the scene; the suspect had in his possession the man’s GPS and cellphone.

600 block of Cumberland Road, NE – A residential burglary was reported on Aug. 13. A man said he was inside his home when the suspect entered the rear door.  The suspect said to him, “I am the man trying to rob your house.” The victim called police. The victim said his wallet, credit cards, driver’s license and some cash were stolen.

600 block of Sherwood Road, NE – A residential burglary was reported on Aug. 13. An officer arrived on the scene and discovered that the rear door was open and the glass on the door was broken out. Officers cleared the home; the home owner arrived on the scene and said the only item taken was a bottle of wine from the refrigerator.

Pharr Road, NW – A burglary at an apartment complex was reported on Aug. 13. The victim’s residence was broken into and half a cookie was eaten.

600 block of Garson Road, NE – A residential burglary was reported on Aug. 15. Someone forced open the front door to the victim’s apartment, then stole her TVs, computer and her 7-year-old Maltese.

500 block of Wimbledon Road, NE – A commercial burglary was reported on Aug. 16. A man said he left the apartment complex in the evening and when he returned the next morning, he noticed the maintenance office door was kicked in. There were substantial damages to the door frame. Several axe units were taken from the complex and it appeared as though the suspect knew exactly where the units were located. The total amount for the stolen items was $2,350. Management said that an employee was fired from maintenance a week ago.

300 block of Noble Creek Drive, NW – A burglary at an apartment complex was reported on Aug. 16. A man was seen by the victim leaving the victim’s apartment. When the victim approached and asked him what he was doing in his apartment, the suspect told him he was the maintenance man. The suspect was last seen running away from the location.

1800 block of Felker Ward Street, NW – A residential burglary was reported on Aug. 16. Someone entered the victim’s home by removing the a/c unit from the window, then stealing items. A man was seen running out the back door and a red, older model pickup was seen speeding away from the area.

3600 block of Habersham Road, NE – A residential burglary was reported on Aug. 20. A man said that while he was lying on his couch he heard a noise in his guest bedroom. When he went to investigate the noise he saw a man run out the window. He discovered that his Rolex watch had been taken.

3400 block of Kingsboro Road, NE – A burglary was reported on Aug. 20. Someone smashed the window to the victim’s apartment and stole $1,000 from  $3,000 that was inside a shoe box in a closet.

1700 block of Moores Mill Road, NW – A residential burglary was reported on Aug. 20. Officers responded to an alarm call and discovered that the door had been kicked in. A woman said her laptop computer and large jewelry box with approximately $60,000 to $70,000 worth of jewelry was taken.

3600 block of Cloudland Drive, NW – A residential burglary was reported on Aug. 21. A man said his dog started barking, so he went to check around his home and discovered his gas-powered blower was missing from the storage room. The storage room was unlocked.

Larceny

3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from parking lot was reported on Aug. 12. A person stole the victim’s cellphone after attempting to purchase it using fake money.

1900 block of Felker Ward Street, NW – A larceny was reported on Aug. 13. A woman said she saw three men putting metal from a construction area into a truck and then driving away.

3100 block of Roswell Road, NE – A larceny from a business was reported on Aug. 14. A woman said she laid her cellphone on the counter to serve a customer. When she turned away from the counter to get a pack of cigarettes for the customer, the customer paid and walked out of the store. As she was     cleaning the store later that night she realized that her cellphone was missing from the counter.

900 block of East Paces Ferry Road, NE – A larceny was reported on Aug. 15. An unknown suspect cut the lock on the victim’s bike, then moved it to another area in the parking deck were the bike was located.

1700 block of Howell Mill Road, NW –A larceny from a supermarket was reported on Aug. 15. Loss prevention saw the arrestee conceal 10 pieces of meat inside his pants and walk past all points of sale. The man was arrested for shoplifting.

3300 block of Lenox Road, NE – A larceny was reported on Aug. 16. A taxi driver said that a woman did not pay her cab fare. He said that he picked her up in Lithonia and transported her to Lenox Road. She said she needed to go into the office building to get the money to pay for the cab ride. She did not return to the cab to pay.

2100 block of Cheshire Bridge Road, NE – A larceny was reported on Aug. 16. A man said he saw on security video a white truck with a tank pull up to the grease bin and steal grease.

3600 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A larceny was reported on Aug. 18.       A man said while leaving the bar, he was picked up by two women who then took him to an ATM. Once they withdrew cash, the unidentified women returned with him to his residence where they had drinks. Upon checking his account the next day he discovered several unauthorized transactions.

2200 block of Peachtree Road, NW – A larceny was reported on Aug. 19. Two men inside the location snatched the two victim’s cellphones and wallets from the table and ran.  One of the victims was able to snatch her wallet back from one of the men before he left the area.

3200 block of Lenox Road, NE – A larceny from a residence was reported on Aug. 20. A woman said that her next door neighbor climbed over her fourth-floor balcony and took two of her patio chairs.

3400 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a hotel was reported on Aug. 22. The reporting person said the suspect rented three rooms at the hotel, and then stole three iPod docking stations from the rooms.

3300 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A larceny was reported on Aug. 23. A witness said that the suspect drove him and the victim to their hotel room. The suspect offered sexual services at which point the witness declined. The suspect then reached into the victim’s pocket and took his wallet. The suspect then fled the scene.

Peachtree Valley Road, NE – A larceny from an apartment complex was reported on Aug. 24.  The victim said that people he knew went into the lounge area and took a projector from the media room.

Larceny from Auto

4400 block of Roswell Road, NE – A larceny from an auto at a restaurant was reported on Aug. 13. Someone entered the victim’s vehicle and stole a briefcase with his laptop and iPad, along with his Omni pad used for his diabetes treatment.

100 block of Noble Creek Drive, NW – A larceny from an auto was reported on Aug. 14. An unknown suspect entered the victim’s vehicle and took two bottles of sunless tanning lotion and a rubber cup holder insert.

1800 block of Peachtree Street, NW – A larceny from an auto at a restaurant was reported on Aug. 15. A man returned to his 2012 Nissan Altima and saw that his passenger side window was broken.  He said his duffle bag with a laptop, iPod, two hard drives, 35mm camera, Polaroid, two Rolex watches, a Cartier watch, cufflinks and clothing were stolen.

2500 block of Birchwood Drive, NE – A larceny from an auto w as reported on Aug. 22. A woman said she left her unlocked vehicle parked at the location over night, and upon returning in the morning she discovered that her wallet was missing from underneath her seat.

Auto Theft

1600 block of Ellsworth Industrial Boulevard, NW – An auto theft was reported on Aug. 22. Two suspects approached a vehicle that was running and unoccupied. One of the suspects drove off in the vehicle, the other ran away before being picked up by the suspect in the vehicle.
