Atlanta Girls’ School hosts parenting expert Leonard Sax for a community talk on Oct. 10, starting at 7 p.m.
Sax, author of “Girls on the Edge,” will speak about what parents of teenage girls should know about managing stress and building resilience, according to the school.
“AGS is thrilled to welcome Dr. Sax to Atlanta,” said Interim Head of School Joan King.
“His immense insight into the developing mind, body, and spirit of the adolescent girl is invaluable to parents as they strive to help their daughters reach their full potential.”
In his book Sax argues that many girls today have a “brittle sense of self,” AGS said in a press reelease. The book offers tools parents need to help their daughters become independent and confident women, AGS said.
Sax’s talk is free and open to the general public. RSVP at www.atlantagirlsschool.org/dr-sax. The school is located at 3254 Northside Parkway, NW in Buckhead.
