The Governor’s Commission on Brookhaven will meet at 8 p.m. Oct. 11 at St. Martin’s Episcopal School, 3110-A Ashford Dunwoody Road.

The commission was appointed by Gov. Nathan Deal to help set up the new city of Brookhaven until a city council is elected. The commission has been tasked with organizing the transition from DeKalb County to city government, issuing requests for proposals for city services and locating facilities for the new city police department and administration, among other things.

At its meeting, the commission is expected to provide updates on its progress. The commission created several committees to focus on different aspects of city government. Those committees meet regularly throughout the week. A full schedule of meeting information can be found at:
