North Atlanta High School students angered by a recent decision to overhaul their school’s leadership team staged a protest on Oct. 10, leaving classes and assembling on the football field.
Atlanta Public Schools security told members of the press to stay off campus during the event, which was described as peaceful by the student newspaper. Reporter Newspapers broadcast partner CBS Atlanta posted this news helicopter video:
On Oct. 5, APS officials told Principal Mark MyGrant to leave campus immediately and reassigned the school’s academy leaders. On Oct. 9, Superintendent Erroll Davis spoke to the North Atlanta High community regarding his decision. For more coverage of this story, click here and here.
