From police reports dated through Nov.3.
The following information was provided to the Buckhead Reporter by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.
2200 block of Cheshire Bridge Road, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on Oct. 23. A man hit the victim with an object; the victim could not recall where he was assaulted or where his current residence was. He was transported to Grady Hospital for treatment of wounds to his head.
3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on Oct. 26. A man said the suspect came into the store and took three items, putting them in his bag, and then walked out. When the victim confronted him, the suspect started fighting with the victim, biting him on his right arm. The suspect was transported to city jail and charged with theft by shoplifting and aggravated assault.
4400 block of Northside Parkway, NW – An aggravated assault was reported on Oct. 28. Victim #1 said he picked up victim #2 and the suspect from a nearby club. Upon entry to the apartment, the suspect was so intoxicated she had to be carried into the house. When victim #2 asked the suspect to move off the bed so she could lie down, a fight ensued. Both victims were struck by the suspect and bitten about the face and body. The suspect destroyed several items in the apartment belonging to victim #1. The woman was positively identified as the suspect and aggressor.
3700 block of Peachtree Road, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on Oct. 28. A man said he and his girlfriend had been drinking and got into an argument. She attacked him, leaving a bruise on his eye and neck. He did not want to press charges at this time and just wanted the incident on record.
2100 block of Cheshire Bridge Road, NE – A pedestrian robbery was reported on Oct. 27. Two unknown men robbed the victims at gunpoint. One victim was hit with a pistol. A wallet, credit cards, clutch purse and iPhone were stolen.
1100 block of Woodland Avenue, NE – A pedestrian robbery was reported on Oct. 27. A man said while walking in the park, someone came up behind him and put an object that felt like a gun against his back, then reached into his pocket and took his wallet, which contained $85.
900 block of Collier Road, NW – A pedestrian robbery was reported on Oct. 29. The victim said two men pointed a chrome pistol at him and stated “Give it up.” The suspects stole his iPhone. Shell casings were found at the scene.
700 block of Holmes Street, NW – A pedestrian robbery was reported on Nov. 2. A woman said several men approached them and brandished a handgun. They demanded the victims’ purses and fled. While the officer was speaking with the victims, the men in a silver SUV returned. A chase ensued and the men fled on I-75 at Cleveland Ave. They stopped on Mount Zion Road, left their vehicle and ran away. The vehicle had been reported stolen. The victims’ purses were recovered and returned.
2800 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A residential burglary was reported on Oct. 22. A woman said that her residence was broken into through the front door, which was pried open. The peep hole was pushed out on the door, and costume jewelry was taken along with a laptop computer, a Social Security card and two kitchen knives.
3400 block of Kingsboro Road, NE – A residential burglary was reported on Oct. 22. A woman said she discovered that her laptop computer was missing from her apartment. She thinks she may have left the front door unlocked and the dining room window open.
700 block of Sidney Marcus Boulevard, NE – A residential burglary was reported on Oct. 23. Someone broke in through the back door of the victim’s apartment and stole his laptop and other items, along with the peep hole, which was found in the grass in the back yard.
3100 block of Peachtree Park Drive, NE – A residential burglary was reported on Oct. 23. An unknown suspect kicked in the door to the victim’s apartment and stole a mountain bike and $100 cash.
4300 block of Jett Road, NE – A residential burglary was reported on Oct. 24. The victim discovered the door pried open and two diamond rings missing. The suspect also ripped the power meter, causing the
home to lose power, subsequently disabling the alarm.
3100 block of Lenox Road, NE – A residential burglary was reported on Oct. 25. A man was seen on a bike while an officer was en route to an alarm call. When approached, the suspect ran away across Ga. 400 to a hotel, where he barricaded himself. After a brief standoff he was apprehended and taken into custody. The suspect sustained minor injuries and was treated on the scene while remaining in custody. He was charged with criminal intent to commit burglary.
2700 block of Margaret Mitchell Drive, NW – A residential burglary was reported on Oct. 25. The victim said the nanny, upon arrival to the residence, discovered several items rummaged through and jewelry taken.
3300 block of Northside Parkway, NW – A commercial burglary was reported on Oct. 25. Someone entered the business and stole $1,100 from the safe. No signs of forced entry. Cameras were inside the business.
2700 block of Pine Tree Road, NE – A residential burglary was reported on Oct. 25. The arrested suspect broke into residences and a hotel. The suspect ran from police and attempted to hide inside the hotel. The suspect had a brief standoff with police before surrendering. The suspect was taken into custody.
2400 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A residential burglary was reported on Oct. 27. One hundred dollars’ worth of electronics was taken from the location. A key was left under a rock at the site by the landlord for contractors. The resident was not aware of the key until after the crime.
3900 block of Wieuca Road, NE – A residential burglary was reported on Oct. 27. There was forced entry to a rear window. The residence had a lot of people coming in and out, as well as a lot of keys to the house to provide access for real estate agents. Various furniture items were taken.
1300 block of Chattahoochee Avenue, NW – A commercial burglary was reported on Oct. 29. A man said he returned to work and found the warehouse had been broken into and 229 TVs had been taken. There was a hole in the wall where the suspects made entry. There is also video of the suspects and the vehicles.
1900 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A commercial burglary was reported on Nov. 1. The reporting person said that upon returning to work in the morning she discovered that the drive-through window
had the lock broken, and the safe at the front of the store had been cut on the side and cash in the amount of $6,000 to $12,000 was missing.
3500 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A commercial burglary was reported on Nov. 2. Police responded to an audible alarm at the Gucci store. Upon arrival, officers discovered the window was broken and several handbags were taken. Upon inventory of the store it was discovered $50,000 worth of purses were stolen. A witness on the scene said three men entered the location dressed in black clothing, smashed the front window with a sledge hammer, and filled three large bags with merchandise. The sledge hammer was recovered on the scene and turned into property for processing.
1400 block of Mount Paran Road, NE – A residential burglary was reported on Nov. 2. The victims said that upon returning home they noticed the front door was kicked in and items missing. A man came by earlier and asked if they were going to be home all day. The suspect told the victims that he was working at the house next door.
900 block of Chattahoochee Avenue, NW – A larceny from a business was reported on Nov. 3. The owner said that the business next door to them had an extension cord plugged into their business and
used their electricity without permission. The supervisor at the hand car wash, next door, said that his employee told him that he had gotten permission to use their electricity because their generator had broken down.
3500 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a specialty store was reported on Oct. 22. An unknown man and woman were seen on video selecting seven belts, placing them into a bag and leaving.
2900 block of Pharr Court South Drive, NW – A larceny was reported on Oct. 23. The arrested person was seen on security camera unplugging the wires and cable to a laptop computer and placing it into his blue duffle bag, then leaving the room.
3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a department store was reported on Oct. 24. A man was seen putting a pair of jeans on under his sweat pants. He then tried to leave the location without paying.
3100 block of Peachtree Street, NW – A larceny was reported on Oct. 25. An unknown woman stole the victim’s debit card, iPhone and other items after giving him a ride from Johnny’s Hideaway bar.
2300 block of Cheshire Bridge Road, NE – A larceny was reported on Oct. 25. A man entered CVS and stole several types of cough medicine and concealed them inside his pants. He walked past all points of sale without paying.
2400 block of Bolton Road, NW – A larceny was reported on Oct. 29. The store manager said a woman and son entered the location to go to their storage unit. The son asked the employee for a key to the restroom. Upon returning from the restroom, the son gave the store employee the ring and the chain but not the key.
3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from a store was reported on Oct. 29. Someone broke into the Metro PCS glass display and took more than 125 iPhone cases.
1800 block of Cheshire Bridge Road, NE – A larceny was reported on Oct. 29. A woman said she got into an argument with another dancer. When she was put out of the club by security officers, her pouch was given to the wrong dancer in error. Upon further investigation, the pouch was recovered from a trashcan but it was empty. Four hundred dollars, a debit card and Arizona ID were missing.
3200 block of Cains Hill Place, NE – A larceny from a nightclub was reported on Oct. 30. A man said he discovered his debit card missing from his wallet, and believes someone used his debit card and PIN number to make $300 in purchases. He thinks someone put something in his drink while at the club.
1800 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny from a discount store was reported on Nov. 2. The arrestee was seen selecting flea control products from the pet supply area, then concealing the items in a shopping bag and attempting to leave without paying.
Larceny from Auto
Collier Road, NW – A larceny from an auto in a parking deck was reported on Oct. 29. An unknown suspect took a cellphone, rifle with scope, and 10 rounds from victim’s vehicle. No signs of forced entry, no fingerprints, no cameras at the location.
1400 block of Northside Drive, NW – A larceny from an auto was reported on Oct. 30. A woman said that upon returning to her vehicle she discovered that the driver’s side door was broken with a large rock and her purse was taken. It contained $4,000 in cash.
Peachtree Avenue, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on Nov. 3. Someone entered a vehicle and stole $3 in change and a piccolo instrument. The vehicle was unsecured.
800 block of Sidney Marcus Boulevard, NE – An auto theft was reported on Oct. 23. A man woke up and realized that an associate took a rental car, a 2012 Dodge Challenger. He called a friend that knew the suspect and asked why the suspect stole the car. The friend said the suspect stays in his complex. The friend called back and said that the rental vehicle was in the complex. DeKalb County police were called but the vehicle was gone when they arrived.
