Youth Leadership Sandy Springs is looking for up to 30 ninth or 10th graders who are interested in learning about their community.

The program, offered by Leadership Sandy Springs, wants to enroll students by March 1 for classes during the 2013-14 school year.

YLSS offers students a chance to study government, the environment, public safety, the economy and other topics.

Participants will take part in a cellphone scavenger hunt, take part in a mock trial, plan a new town and, at the end of the year, put together a group service project.

Applications are available at be eligible, students must be rising sophomores or juniors who either live in or attend school in Sandy Springs.
