Sandy Springs city officials are seeking proposals from transportation planning, engineering and parking firms to help determine parking needs in the city center.
The city announced Jan. 24 it is issuing a Request for Proposals for a study of parking needs in the area. The study will include recommendations on the size, location and configuration of parking structures needed to support the city’s new master plan for development of the area.
“Forecasting our parking needs is a critical first step in the city’s overall planning for streets and infrastructure changes. We want to ensure that we plan for adequate public parking in the City Center area,” Sandy Springs Mayor Eva Galambos said in a city press release.
Study area boundaries include the northern and eastern borders as outlined in the city center plan, Hammond Drive on the south and Sandy Springs Circle on the west, the city said. The RFP can be found on the city’s website at sandyspringsga.gov/purchasing .
