Dancers rocked and Soap Box Derby race cars rolled during a busy weekend in Reporter Newspapers communities. Here are some of the scenes photographer Phil Mosier found during activities in Dunwoody, Sandy Springs and Brookhaven on June 1 and June 2.

Soap Box Derby cars raced through the parking lot of the First Baptist Church of Atlanta on New Peachtree Road in Dunwoody on June 1. This is the sixth year of the event, and fifth as a sanctioned competition, meaning local winners can go on to compete in Akron, Ohio, at the national finals.
During the Soap Box Derby, Dunwoody racer Georgia Wescott readies himself at start line as her crew chief Mark Hodges checks her racer.
Jackson Sanders, left, and Kinsey Bryan take a turn as star bubble blowers during the Skyland Church’s neighborhood block party on June 1.
At the Dunwoody Nature Center, Tallulah Clute, age 4, and friends danced during a concert at the center June 2.
On June 2, they were dancing in Sandy Springs, too — at least until the rains came. Charlotte Cloud, 5, at left, and friend Palmer Walstad danced at Heritage Sandy Springs’ June Concert by the Springs to the tunes of Gwen Hughes and the Retro Jazz Kats.
