The City of Brookhaven is looking for a new Parks and Recreation Director, the city has announced.

There’s already quite a bit of interest, the city says.

“Brookhaven is conducting a nationwide search for the city’s first parks and recreation director,” a city press release says. “So far, the city has received 49 applications. Brookhaven takes control of 11 parks from DeKalb County on Sept. 3. The goal is to have a director hired shortly after taking over the parks.”

During its City Council meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 13, Brookhaven formalized a $3.2 million agreement with DeKalb County to cover the costs of providing parks and police services since December, when the city officially began operations.
