Dunwoody’s Charter Commission plans a special Sept. 11 ceremony prior to its Sept. 11 meeting.

The commission has invited Terry Davis, minister at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Atlanta and representatives of the Dunwoody Police Department and DeKalb Fire Department to take part in a commemoration and invocation, the city said in a press release. The event is intended to honor police officers and firefighters and remember the people who died in the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

The ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m., prior to the commission’s regular meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. The commission plans to meet at 47 Perimeter Center East, Suite 400.
