Brookhaven, GA (CBS ATLANTA, Reporter Newspapers broadcast partner) –
CBS Atlanta News wanted to know what DeKalb County is doing to improve its water and sewer system after a water main break on Clairmont Road caused major delays last week.
The County Department of Watershed Management confirmed that crews finished repairing the water main break over the weekend. A boil water advisory was still in effect Monday, but could be lifted by the end of the day.
Turns out, the county has approved a $1.35 billion water and sewer system upgrade. Work began in 2012 and includes 82 projects to be completed over the next four years. It’s only about 20 percent complete.
