Four public events have been scheduled in October that will give voters a chance to meet and hear the views of candidates for Dunwoody City Council.

Eight candidates are seeking seats on the council. Candidates run within their districts, so each voter on Nov. 5 will choose only from among the candidates seeking a seat representing the voter’s district.

The candidates are: District One, Post One – David Davis, Henly Shelton, Denis Shortal ; District Two, Post Two – William A.J. Mercier, Jim Riticher, Heyward Wescott; District Three, Post 3 – Sam Eads, Doug Thompson.

Candidates for the District One and District Three seats have been invited to appear at Dunwoody Baptist Church for a forum on Oct. 3. The church, located at 1445 Mount Vernon Road, will host a forum for the District Two candidates on Oct. 10. Both events are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and last until 9 p.m.

On Oct. 6, Dunwoody United Methodist Church, located at 1548 Mount Vernon Road, is scheduled to host a meet-the-candidates event from 7 to 9 p.m. Candidates seeking the District One, District Two and District Three seats on the council have been invited to take part and answer questions.

The Dunwoody Homeowners Association plans a public debate for candidates for all three seats on Oct. 17. The debate is scheduled to be held at Dunwoody High School, 5035 Vermack Road.
