Buckhead’s leading nonprofit civic group has decided to back incumbent Post 2 At-Large City Councilman Aaron Watson over his opponent, Buckhead resident and former councilwoman Mary Norwood.

The Buckhead Coalition this week announced its endorsements in the Nov. 5 city of Atlanta elections.

The Coalition raised $50,400 for the Better Community Political Action Committee to donate to candidates running for office.

In addition to backing Watson, the Coalition also backed incumbent City Councilman Howard Shook for District 7 and Felicia Moore for District 9.

The Coalition also endorses District 8 City Councilwoman Yolanda Adrean, who is running unopposed this year.

In the Board of Education races, the Coalition favors Mark Riley for Seat 8 At Large over incumbent Reuben McDaniel and Taryn Bowman for Board of Education District 4 over incumbent Nancy Meister.
