The Atlanta Police Department has had a busy Friday morning.

Just before 3:30 a.m., a driver crashed his vehicle into the Walgreens near the intersection of Piedmont and Cheshire Bridge Roads. The car went through the glass doors and stopped just short of the pharmacy. The suspect exited his car, walked to a nearby bar and was found drinking a beer. He was arrested and will likely be charged with DUI.

Also this morning, an Atlanta man was shot during an attempted robbery on Woodland Avenue at the Arrow Creek Apartments off Cheshire Bridge Road. Police said the victim was sitting in the stairwell working on his laptop when a man in a Halloween-style mask demanded his computer. The suspect shot the vicitim in the leg, but didn’t take the laptop.
