Gables Residential and Cousins Properties have begun construction on Emory Point Phase II – an approximately $70 million, mixed-used development on Clifton Road near Emory University and the CDC campus. Phase II will include an additional 40,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space and 307 luxury apartment homes. The development is scheduled to be completed spring 2015.
Phase II merchants will join the 80,000-square-foot Phase I. Completed in the fall of 2012, Emory Point Phase I recently won a 2013 Urban Land Institute Atlanta Development of Excellence Award, and received an EarthCraft Multifamily Certification, reflecting the development’s impact on the local area and the developer’s commitment to energy-, water- and resource-efficient projects.
“With the launch of Emory Point Phase II, we look forward to growing the retail, restaurant and professional services offerings to the thriving Emory and Clifton communities,” said Bill Bassett, Cousins’ senior vice president. “Our free parking deck will not be affected by construction, and our current merchants will remain open for business throughout the process.”
