City Council will meet on Nov. 19 and will take up a zoning case that is drawing strong opposition from residents of the Spalding Woods neighborhood.

Developer Traton Homes is seeking to have 6.6 acres at the corner of Glenridge Drive and Mabry Road rezoned to allow for 18 units. The city’s Department of Community Development is recommending conditional approval of the application that would reduce the number of units to 14, City Councilman Gabriel Sterling said. There are three single family homes on the site.

Residents surrounding the proposed development want something that’s less dense that will be more in keeping with other homes in the neighborhood.

City Council’s Nov. 19 meeting begins at 6 p.m. and will be held at Council Chambers at Sandy Springs City Hall, 7840 Roswell Road, Building 500.
