Root City MarketBy Pamela Berger

On Saturday, Dec. 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., I’m excited to be joining forces with Jen Soong of Soma Goods to showcase some of the most talented southern artists at the vendor based event, Root City Market. Jen started Root City (named after pioneering merchant, Sidney Root who helped establish Grant Park) in spring of this year and is on track to make this an impressive quarterly event.

The Root City Market is an ideal locale to do some holiday shopping as the event has no entrance fee and inside you’ll find hundreds of one-of-a-kind handcrafted goods from the south’s most talented artists. Over 25 vendors will be selling their wares that include artwork, canvas bags, leather bags, men’s provisions, ceramics, rugs, jeans, jewelry and furniture.

A large variety of Atlanta based artists will share their wares as well as artists I’ll be adding to the mix based throughout the South and featured on Local music, food and interactive art have become a staple at the event as well.

The Root City Market will be held at Stoveworks, 112 Krog Street in Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward. To learn more, check out
