Atlanta residents looking for the latest news on the Buckhead Atlanta project need only look up when they’re driving on Peachtree Road.
The successor to the Streets of Buckhead project keeps moving as contractors for OliverMcMillan ready for a 2014 opening date.
The company has released pictures of the glass rotunda being installed on top of the Hermes store, a French high-fashion design house. Buckhead Atlanta will be home to many upscale retailers. When finished, it will be 1.5 million square feet, including 300,000 square feet retail, restaurants and cafes, 125,000 square feet of office space and 370 “luxury high-rise residences.” The development will also contain the headquarters of the Atlanta-based company Spanx, maker of women’s undergarments.
