Stan Jester has announced his intention to run for the District 1 seat on the DeKalb County Board of Education.
The seat was formerly held by his wife, Nancy Jester. Nancy Jester is now running for state school superintendent.
“I’ve been intensely focused on education in DeKalb and I’ve been advocating for principles like decentralization… and advocating for students and taxpayers across the county,” Stan Jester said.
For the past year, Stan Jester has been keeping an eye on the school board with his “Fact Checker” blog, he said. He said there are many issues that he’d like to address if elected to the school board, including financial transparency, class sizes, and the school calendar.
“I think I am uniquely qualified to address these challenges,” Jester said.
