Miss Piggy and Kermit as Scarlett and Rhett at the Center for Puppetry Arts.

The Center for Puppetry Arts in Midtown will expand to become home to new museum spaced dedicated to the work of Muppets creator Jim Henson. According to a report from our media affiliate CBS Atlanta, the expanded museum will feature the world’s largest collection of Muppets and other puppet characters created by Henson.

The project, set to be completed in 2015, also includes a new library and archival space, a renovated entryway and other upgrades.

Approximately half of the expanded museum space will be dedicated to the Jim Henson Collection, which will feature  puppets from Sesame Street, The Muppet Show, Fraggle Rock, The Dark Crystal and Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas.
