A doctor already charged for the sexual assault of a patient and molesting a juvenile has been re-arrested for practicing medicine without a license. Kelly Burton Thrasher’s medical license has been suspended since he was arrested in connections with the two separate incidents.
In November, 2012, Thrasher, 41, was charged with the sexual assault of a woman after he injected her with a substance rendering her unconscious and then had sex with her.
In January, 2013, another complaint was filed against Thrasher, this time by the father of a juvenile female who said Thrasher molested her during a sleepover at the Thrasher residence in 2012.
In late 2013, Sandy Springs Police received tips that Thrasher had returned to his office and was having contact with patients while under orders, per the suspension, not to do so. Sandy Springs detectives notified the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office and the Georgia State Licensing Board about the allegations.
On Jan. 17, an investigator with the medical board obtained a warrant for Thrasher for practicing medicine without a license. He was arrested and booked into the Fulton County Jail, but is out on bond.
