A Sandy Springs traffic officer and the prospective father delivered a baby in the family’s car stuck in traffic on I-285 near Riverside Drive during the Jan. 28 winter storm, Sandy Springs police reported.
Officer Tim Sheffield and the new father assisted in the delivery of a baby girl around 5:25 p.m. Jan. 28, Capt. Steve Rose reported. The delivery was done in the parent’s car. EMS personnel arrived moments later.
The delivery appeared to have been without complications, Rose said. The child and parents were taken to a hospital.
