David Dabbiere, chief operating officer of Airwatch, speaks to the Sandy Springs Rotary Club Feb. 3.

Airwatch’s Chief Operating Officer David Dabbiere told the Sandy Springs Rotary Club that his company plans to grow in the Perimeter.

“We will continue to expand and hire in the area,” Dabbiere said. “We are heavily invested in Perimeter office space.”

Airwatch made national headlines recently when it was purchased by California-based VM Ware, Inc. for $1.5 billion.

At Rotary club’s Feb. 3 meeting, Dabbiere said Sandy Springs has been a great home for the mobile security management company.

“It’s a great time to be in technology,” Dabbiere said. “I couldn’t imagine a better place to have a technology company.”

Dabbiere explained that Airwatch manages security for mobile devices like tablets and phones.

Airwatch was founded in 2003. The company, which is headquartered in Sandy Springs, now has 1,600 employees, 10 global offices and more than 10,000 customers, he said.

Their customer base is diverse, “everywhere from Wal-mart to the Supreme Court of the United States,” Dabbiere said.
