President Obama has declared a state of emergency in Georgia, ordering federal agencies to help with the state and local response ahead of the winter storm. Specifically, FEMA is authorized to identify, mobilize, and provide at its discretion, equipment and resources necessary to alleviate the impacts of the emergency. Emergency protective measures, limited to direct federal assistance, will be provided at 75 percent federal funding. Both Fulton and DeKalb were listed in the list of counties under the emergency declaration.
