The Mayor’s Office of Innovation has announced the registration process for businesses to sign up to participate in the Express Licensing Pilot. In the pilot program, customers will work with business consultants to sample various methods to expedite the city’s current business license application process.The city is limiting the pilot to technology-based start-ups who do not have a business license. Later pilots will target different business sectors. Interested businesses can take part by signing up at this link by tomorrow, Feb. 18. For more information on the program, visit this link.

On Feb. 14 at 11:33 p.m, Decatur Police responded to the 100 block of McKoy Street in reference to a previous robbery. The  according to a report DPD. The 14-year-old victim reported he was walking to a store in Oakhurst Village at approximately 11 p.m. The victim stated while he was walking on McKoy Street at West Hill Street and looking down at his cell phone, the suspect approached him from behind, reached around and grabbed his hands. The victim struggled with the suspect and dropped his phone on the ground. The suspect grabbed $20 the victim had been holding with his phone and ran southbound on McKoy Street. The phone was not taken. The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 30-years-old, 6’0, medium build, wearing a black hoodie with white lettering across the front and dark colored sweatpants. No weapon was threatened or shown. The victim was not injured.

Dozens of post offices in north Georgia will be open Presidents Day, despite it being a federal holiday. The U.S. Postal Service will be open to make up for the loss of two days last week due to the winter storm. The following offices will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (See the full list at CBS Atlanta.)
