Baby, baby, baby no! Only five people turned up this morning to protest Justin Bieber’s move to Buckhead (Photo courtesy CBS Atlanta)

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is now reporting that this morning’s “protest” against pop star Justin Bieber moving to Buckhead was a prank staged by the morning show crew known as the Regular Guys from Rock 100.5. The protestors were actually radio station interns, while the Buckhead Neighborhood Coalition, which sprang out of nowhere on Facebook, was the cover to make the protest look legit.

The Facebook invite to the protest indicated that more than 500 intended to show up at Roswell and Blackland roads this morning at 6 a.m.

So, all of the Atlanta, national and international media fell for it. Yep, we’re suckers.

However, it is true that Bieber  is already renting a home in Buckhead and is looking to buy in the community. Bieber honed his talent and recorded in Atlanta under the mentorship of Usher and manager Scooter Braun.

Bieber, 19, has had numerous run-ins with the law over the past year, including a DUI in Miami, a charge of vandalising a neighbor’s home in the upscale community where he lives near Los Angeles and assaulting a limo driver in Toronto. The tabloids have constantly reported the ongoing complaints neighbors have lodged against Bieber and his entourage, including noise and speeding through the gated community in Calabasas, CA.
