Hundreds crowded into Mount Vernon Baptist Church for a final Sunday service yesterday before the building is demolished to make way for the new Falcons stadium. Rev. Rodney Turner told our affiliate CBS46 that the congregation will temporarily hold services at Carver Bible College in southwest Atlanta. It is still searching for a permanent home.

The church sold its property for $14.5 million to make way for the new Falcons stadium. Nearby Friendship Baptist Church sold its property for nearly $20 million to make way for the new stadium.
