The judge overseeing the Atlanta Public Schools test cheating case today has delayed former superintendent Beverly Hall’s trial until August, according to a report in the AJC. The court heard from and oncologist, who described Hall as “terminally ill” with only months to live.

Since there seems to be little interesting in turning The Gulch – the 120-acre collection of parking lots, viaducts and railways in Downtown – into a multimodal passenger terminal, the Atlanta Hawks want to turn the space adjacent to Philips Arena into a sports entertainment complex for fans. According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, the Hawks are in the preliminary stages of “reimagining” their home, Philips Arena, and the area around it. The entertainment complex might include some kind of NBA fan experience, hotel or a casino (we’ll be interested to hear how that sits with the Georgia Legislature).

The long-awaited opening of Elmyriachi in Kirkwood should happen this May, according to Decaturish. Jeff Dilbeck, a co-owner of Elmyriachi and its older sibling Elmyr in Little Five Points, said that the restaurant has been in the works for almost a year. Hold on, Latin food lovers, it’s coming!
