The Atlanta Track Club has announced it will “suspend” the annual Atlanta Marathon to focus on a newer race, the Atlanta 10 Miler and 5K at Atlantic Station on Oct. 26. A media release from the club said a review of the two events showed a disproportionate amount of the organization’s resources were being dedicated to the marathon with the number of participants dwindling. Both the Atlanta 10 Miler and 5K were introduced in 2013 and attracted more participants in its inaugural year than the Atlanta Marathon. For about the 10 Miler and 5k visit atlantatrackclub.org.
