If you can’t make it to the west coast for the big Comic Con in San Diego, the Wizard World Comic Con is happening in Atlanta from May 31 to June 1 at the World Congress Center in Downtown Atlanta.

Karen Gillan, who played Amy Pond on Doctor Who and stars in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy, was just announced as the big celebrity guest along with legendary comic creator Stan Lee.

Other stars on hand to meet sci-fi, fantasy and comic fans include  Norman Reedus, Lauren Cohan, Jon Bernthal and Michael Rooker of The Walking Dead, James Marsters (Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Torchwood), Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes), Robert Knepper (Prison Break, Hitman) and may more.

Superstar comics creators scheduled to attend include Neal Adams (Batman, Green Lantern), Jorge Molina (X-Men, Fear Itself), Bob Layton (Iron Man, Captain America), John Tyler Christopher (Amazing Spider-Man, Secret Warriors), J.M. DeMatteis (Justice League Dark, Trinity of Sin: The Phantom Stranger) and many others.

There will also be celebrity Q&As, a film festival, costume contests parties and plenty of opportunity for cosplay.

  1. Wasn’t announced a few weeks ago that Nathan Fillion had to cancel his appearance at this event, due to filming commitments!
