An elderly man using a walker was pushed off a MARTA train at the East Lake station by another rider, and the incident was caught on video and uploaded to YouTube. Witnesses said the elderly man was talking in a disrespectful manner to passengers around him, when one rider forcibly pushed the man out the doors as the train came to a stop at the station. Atlanta’s VA hospital will be investigated to find out if there is misconduct in scheduling of patient appointments, according to a statement released by the Department of Veterans Affairs. The country’s VA hospitals have been rocked by scandal since it was discovered that military personnel have been waiting weeks and months for appointments, and some soldiers have died during their wait. According to a report from CNN, more than 120,000 veterans are waiting or never got care across the country.
The City of Atlanta will take possession of two additional streetcars on Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing the total to four. The vehicles, which were built in Sacramento, will be delivered and unloaded at the Atlanta Streetcar Vehicle Maintenance Facility on Fort Street. There is still no launch date for the Atlanta Streetcar, but testing is underway.
