Sandy Springs Police detectives have added four additional charges of sexual exploitation of a minor to Dr. Kelly Thrasher after four pornographic pictures of a child were found on his laptop during a forensic examination.
Thrasher was arrested in Miami May 21 by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, according to the Sandy Springs Police Department.
Sandy Springs Police had announced earlier that week they were looking for the suspended doctor, who is accused of child molestation.
Sandy Springs detectives obtained warrants accusing Thrasher of identity fraud and second-degree forgery. Police say Thrasher obtained a U.S. Passport under another name.
Police said Thrasher was indicted in Fulton County for child molestation following a police investigation in 2012. In January, Thrasher was charged by the state medical boards with practicing medicine without a license after the board received complaints that Thrasher was seeing patients in his office in violation of the medical board’s suspension of his license pending the disposition of the earlier cases, police said.
