North Metro SWAT have arrested Edward Quenzer without incident after he barricaded himself inside a home on Old Woodbine Road in south Sandy Springs.
Sandy Springs Police and the SWAT team responded to a call Wednesday evening of a gunman in the home. The suspect’s mother said that just before 10 p.m. he threatened her with a stun gun after she contacted police about his irrational behavior. Surrounding residents were evacuated by police while negotiators spoke with Quenzer.
North Metro SWAT made entered residence and was able to take Quenzer into custody without further incident. The suspect was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital for a mental evaluation.
