From police reports dated June 1 through 14.

The following information was provided to the Buckhead Reporter by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.

Assault

2800 block of Peachtree Road, NE – An aggravated assault at a discount store was reported on June 1. The cashier saw a man putting two electrical toothbrushes and fish oil pills in a purple bag. She stopped him at the door and he produced a knife and fled the scene. He was arrested at Peachtree and Pharr roads.

1500 block of W. Sussex Road, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on June 2. A woman struck a man with a bat several times, causing injury. She was arrested and transported to jail.

1500 block of Piedmont Avenue, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on June 14. A man and woman were in an altercation, after the man made sexual advances at the woman, and she told the man to get away. He punched her in the face, causing her to bleed and pull out her gun, shooting him two times.

Robbery

3400 block of Northside Parkway, NW – A commercial robbery was reported on June 3. Suspect No. 1 entered the store and guarded the front door, while suspect No. 2 entered and asked if there was anything he could buy for $1. The victim told suspect No. 2 to check the chips area. Suspect No. 2 grabbed a bag of chips, went to pay for it, and pulled out a silver handgun. Suspect No. 2 demanded money and was given $120 in cash. Suspect No. 2 told the victim to get on her knees and turn around, then, both suspects fled in a white 2012 Toyota Camry. They made a left onto SB I-75. Zone 3 units spotted the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle wrecked at the intersection of Hank Aaron Drive and McDonough Boulevard. Both suspects jumped out and ran; suspect No. 1, the driver, fled on Hank Aaron and was not located; suspect No. 2 was apprehended in the wood line. A show up was done and the victim positively identified suspect No. 2. The gun was found inside a purse that was sitting on the rear floor board.

1800 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A pedestrian robbery was reported on June 3. A man in a burgundy vehicle approached a woman in the parking deck, pointed a gun at her and demanded her purse and rings. He left heading south on Howell Mill Road. Inside the woman’s purse was a Smith & Wesson .380 semi-automatic pistol.

700 block of Bellemeade Avenue, NW – A pedestrian robbery was reported on June 5. A man said he left a recording session and was approached by two unknown men at a stop sign. Suspect No. 1 ran to the driver’s side of his vehicle, pulled out a black gun and demanded his maroon 1993 Lexus S30, while suspect No. 2 told him to leave the keys. When he got out of the vehicle, suspect No. 1 asked what was inside his pockets, patted him down, and took his wallet from his back pocket. The suspects fled in the victim’s vehicle and the victim walked to his job.

3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny was reported on June 8. A woman said she was robbed by another woman, who grabbed her arm and took her purse that contained ID, a credit card and blank checks. The woman said, “If you scream, I will cut you.” The suspect jumped into a white Honda driven by a man.

2500 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A pedestrian robbery was reported on June 9. Two suspects in a Chrysler 300 met the victim in the parking lot to purchase two Rolex watches. While in the parking lot, the two suspects got into the victim’s vehicle, where they pointed guns at him, and stole his vehicle.

Burglary

500 block of Wimbledon Road, NE – A commercial burglary was reported on June 2. A maintenance building window was removed from its frame. An a/c recovery unit, an a/c vacuum pump, two torch kits and two recovery tanks were taken. A lock was removed from a stand-alone storage building, but nothing was taken. The property manager cancelled the alarm call and officers did not respond because she thought it was a false alarm.

1st block of Dean Overlook Road, NW – A residential burglary was reported on June 4. No signs of forced entry. The victims said when they returned home, several electronics were missing from the residence, and there were dirty foots prints in the home not made by the owners. There is tracking on some of the electronics.

600 block of Garson Drive, NE – A residential burglary was reported on June 5. The victims returned home and noticed the door was not fitting with the door frame. They were able to push the door open with no effort. A black Apple iPad, silver Apple Macbook laptop and a pair of RayBan sunglasses were all missing.

3600 block of Paul Avenue, NW – A residential burglary was reported on June 11. The front window was pried open. A Wells Fargo bank checkbook and a tote bag containing a Taurus .22 revolver were taken. A man returned home and saw two men, who appeared to be teenagers, running from his house. He chased the suspects and noticed one of them carried his shotgun and iPad. The victim caught up to suspects, exited his vehicle to confront them, and the suspects dropped the property and fled on foot.

1900 block of Monroe Drive, NE – A residential burglary was reported on June 13. A man said several items were stolen from their residence. They included: an iPhone, laptop, watch, sneakers, iPad, backpack and three watches. The victim said there was a man who knocked on his door and asked for “James.” There is a surveillance camera at the location.

Larceny

3500 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny was reported on June 2. A lock was cut and removed from a locker in the men’s locker room at a gym. A wallet and cellphone were taken. The victim remembered a man who was on his phone and never seemed to work out sitting next to his locker.

2300 block of Cheshire Bridge Road, NE – A larceny from a drug store was reported on June 2. The suspect stole socks and Claritin. The suspect was apprehended and transported to jail.

2300 block of Cheshire Bridge Road, NE – A larceny from a drug store was reported on June 2. The suspect stole Visine from the location, and was arrested.

3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny was reported on June 6. A woman went to Macy’s, took clothes totaling $282, and tried to pass all points of sale. She took the items and put them inside of her purse. She also assaulted the lost prevention person. She was arrested and transported to Fulton County.

3900 block of Powers Ferry Road, NW – A larceny was reported on June 7. The victim’s TV was stolen from the “cabana” in the backyard. The location was not locked or secured.

1800 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny from a discount store was reported on June 7. The suspect took a drink out of the store without paying for it and ran when approached by security. The girlfriend was present when the incident occurred but had no knowledge of the theft. The suspect’s information was gathered from the girlfriend.

3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny was reported on June 9. A man went into the store and took 19 pairs of True Religion jeans and tried to walk out. The jeans were valued at $4,142. The man was arrested and transported to Fulton County Jail.

3300 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A larceny from a supermarket was reported on June 11. A man took shampoo, soap, lotions and deodorant worth around $70, placed them in a bag, and walked out of the store. The incident was captured on video surveillance.

Larceny from Auto

3300 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on June 8. A woman said she checked on her vehicle in the parking lot where she parked it on June 7. She said the next day she received an email saying her Kindle notebook was used to purchase children’s books on Amazon. She said she went downstairs to her car and discovered that the passenger side of her car window was busted in. She said when she looked in her car she saw that her Kindle, that was in the center console of the car, was missing. No video surveillance available. Unable to lift quality prints.

2800 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on June 10. A woman said she returned to her vehicle to find that her rear passenger side window was broken. She discovered that her climbing gear that was lying on her back seat, worth $1,200, was missing. No fingerprints were lifted due to weather conditions, and no cameras were available.

3200 block of Peachtree Road, NE – A larceny from an auto was reported on June 14. A juvenile was seen in the Sports Authority parking lot pulling on the victim’s driver door handle with his left hand and holding a flathead screwdriver in his right hand. He started to walk away, and threw the screwdriver in the air before he was detained. There was no damage to the vehicle and no items taken. The screwdriver was recovered.

Auto Theft

1400 block of Chattahoochee Avenue, NW – An auto theft was reported on June 1. Upon responding to an audible alarm, the officer noticed a chain cut to a parking lot. The responding party came and said one of his pickup trucks was missing and was sitting in the lot where glass was found on the ground.

3600 block of Habersham Road, NE – An auto theft was reported on June 2. A woman discovered her white 2005 BMW X3 missing from her apartment’s parking deck. She phoned police on June 6 to report her vehicle was repossessed by BMW, and was never stolen as earlier reported.

200 block of Colonial Homes Drive, NW – An auto theft was reported on June 13. A woman said that one driver’s license, four car keys, one child car seat, one purse, one teacher’s badge and miscellaneous items were stolen.
