From police reports dated June 15 through June 28.
The following information was provided to the Buckhead Reporter by the Zone 2 precinct of the Atlanta Police Department from its records and is presumed to be accurate.
2500 block of Bolton Road, NW – A homicide was reported on June 17. An unidentified suspect shot two suspects, killing one and wounding the other in the leg. The wounded suspect was transported to Grady Hospital.
3400 block of Lakeside Drive, NE – A rape was reported on June 26. A woman and several friends, including the suspect, went to a restaurant to have drinks and watch the World Cup. She consumed at least four gin-and-soda drinks before the group left. The suspect asked her to go with him to a concert at Chastain Park, and he drove her and two other women to the park. She remembered hearing two songs before she blacked out. Her next memory was waking up in the suspect’s bed. She and the suspect were nude. She fell back asleep and awoke to find the suspect having sex with her, but did not immediately realize what was happening due to her level of intoxication. She told the suspect to stop and pushed him off. She used the bathroom and found her torn dress in the living room. The suspect gave her a pair of red basketball shorts and a navy blue T-shirt to wear, and walked her downstairs. They both took a cab to her vehicle at the restaurant.
700 block of Sidney Marcus Boulevard, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on June 15. A woman said she and her boyfriend got into a car accident, then, stopped at a gas station and argued inside the vehicle. She said the arguing escalated to hitting, and her boyfriend burned her with a cigarette lighter. She went inside the store; the suspect followed and was detained by MARTA police. She had a severe burn on her right arm.
2000 block of Peachtree Road, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on June 17. The suspect hit and choked the victim. The suspect was located by an officer and arrested for previous outstanding warrants. The victim did not want to press charges against the suspect.
3200 block of Lenox Road, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on June 21. A man said he was confronted by an old friend in the parking lot who demanded he get into his red Chevy Malibu. When he refused, the other man got into his own vehicle and drove off. The suspect followed the victim and blocked his vehicle inside the parking lot. The suspect exited his vehicle, pointed a black handgun in the victim’s face and threatened to shoot him if he did not get into his vehicle. The victim again refused and the suspect fled the scene.
8200 block of Brookwood Valley Circle, NE – An aggravated assault was reported on June 27. A woman said that her ex-husband asked her to cash a check for him because his ID had been stolen. He got very upset. They argued. He pulled a knife and said he would kill her. She was in fear for her life and called police. She filled out a witness statement. The accused was taken into custody and a warrant was obtained for aggravated assault. He was transported to Fulton County jail.
700 block of Holmes Street, NW – A pedestrian robbery was reported on June 19. A woman was placing her grocery bags in her vehicle when the suspect approached and grabbed her bag. She pulled back, and the suspect produced a gun. He then hit her on top of the head with the weapon and pushed her to the ground. The suspect entered her vehicle and fled.
2100 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A pedestrian robbery was reported on June 26. A man at Crawford Long Hospital said he left a bar and walked down Piedmont Road to almost the I-85 overpass. He said he was pushed down from behind and kicked in the face by two unknown men wearing dark clothing. One suspect went through his pockets and took approximately $60 and his cellphone. The victim went home not knowing the extent of his injuries, went to sleep, then went to the emergency room the following afternoon. He had visible cuts and bruises on his face where he fell on the cement and was kicked.
1700 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A commercial burglary was reported on June 17. The reporting party said that someone had broken the side window to the business and attempted to steal one of the monitors that could not fit through the small opening in the window. Blood samples were left behind and collected.
900 block of Canterbury Road, NE – A residential burglary was reported on June 20. The front door was found kicked in when the victim got out of jail on June 18. A cellphone, laptop and a black 2011 Chevy Silverado truck were taken.
3800 block of Peachtree Dunwoody Road, NE – A residential burglary was reported on June 23. A suspect entered the residence and stole $5,000 worth of silverware.
200 block of Pharr Road, NE – A larceny was reported on June 15. A man said he had invited two women over that night. He thinks the concierge let the two women back into his residence later after one woman said she left a phone behind. He said when he woke up he found that his debit card, along with his watch, were missing from his residence.
400 block of Bishop Street, NW – A larceny was reported on June 15. A man changed clothes in the bathroom of the location for a wedding event. He left his shorts with his wallet in the bathroom. When he returned later, money was gone from wallet.
1700 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny from a grocery store was reported on June 16. A man said another man took items totaling $93.75, locked himself in the bathroom, and start eating them without paying. The man was arrested and transported to city jail.
2300 block of Paul Avenue, NW – A larceny was reported on June 18. An awning was taken from a woman’s backyard. She said she came into contact with the known suspect who had taken items from her backyard before. She said she is going to take out a warrant for him.
1100 block of Woodland Avenue, NE – A larceny was reported on June 20. A man said his live-in girlfriend took his 14″ gold necklace from his dresser drawer in May. He delayed reporting the incident to give her a chance to return the necklace. He said she responded that she pawned the necklace.
1800 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny was reported on June 23. A man and a woman each concealed a pair of hair clippers and left without paying.
1800 block of Howell Mill Road, NW – A larceny was reported on June 24. A woman entered the store and asked an employee for assistance locating hair shampoo. The employee walked away, then returned to the aisle and noticed two bottles of conditioner were missing. The suspect was detained outside the store. No one witnessed the suspect taking the conditioner so the suspect was only issued a criminal trespass warning.
3400 block of Buckhead Loop, NE – A larceny from a specialty store was reported on June 24. The manager said that after a suspicious woman walked out of the store, she found price tags from three bottles of perfume in the aisle where the woman had been.
1800 block of Monroe Drive, NE – A larceny was reported on June 24. A man said someone took approximately $7,500 to $10,000 from his closet. He said that it was in a hidden spot that only his executive assistant of 10 years knew about. He said the assistant was recently fired for poor performance.
700 block of Cumberland Road, NE – A larceny was reported on June 25. The resident came home from work and found an ice bucket in his backyard near his pool, his tool shed door open and his scooter parked unsecured in the carport. He did not report the incident. Two days later he returned home and found his lawn mower was missing from under the carport.
2500 block of Piedmont Road, NE – A larceny was reported on June 26. A man witnessed a woman taking 17 door knobs and putting them in her purse, and passing all points of sale without paying. The amount was $169. The items were returned to the store. She was arrested and transported to city jail.
