Members of Dunwoody City Council on July 28 unanimously approved rezoning 1.019 acres at 1274 Crown Center Parkway for a four-story self-storage facility.
The property had been zoned for a six-story hotel.
The storage facility will house 536 storage units, according to the city. The facility will be open from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m., City Community Development Director Steve Foote told members of the council.
Mayor Mike Davis and Councilmen Doug Thompson, Jim Riticher, Denny Shortal and Terry Nall voted to approve the rezoning. Councilmembers Lynn Deutsch and John Heneghan were absent.
“I think this is a great improvement” over the earlier plan, which allowed a hotel that would be open 24 hours a day, Davis said.
