The Luminary, the  first restaurant by Atlanta native and “Top Chef: Las Vegas” alum Eli Kirshtein, will open Aug. 5 at Krog Street Market in Inman Park. Described by Kirshtein as an American brasserie with regional influences and named after Atlanta’s historic first newspaper, The Luminary will feature a classically inspired menu, large raw bar, craft beer and cocktail program and 400-square-foot patio space.

The Luminary will be open for dinner Tuesday through Thursday, 6-10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday,  6-11 p.m. (closed Sunday and Monday), and will expand its hours and begin serving lunch in the coming weeks.

Putting an American slant on a traditional French concept, The Luminary menu will range from steak frites and croque monsieur to roasted chicken hearts and chicken liver mousse.

To complement Kirshtein’s menu, lead bartender Ian Cox has developed an extensive Paris-inspired cocktail program and will open with an expansive beer menu, including 24 drafts and 30 bottles that will rotate seasonally. The carefully curated list of beers ranges from local Sweetwater 420 to craft brewing champion Brooklyn Brewery, and French “biere de garde” Brasserie Lepers.
