Emory University Hospital in Atlanta is set to receive a patient infected with the deadly Ebola virus currently sweeping through swaths of west Africa. According to a report in The Guardian, the patient, whose name was not released, is expected to arrive in the next few days. Emory University Hospital has a specially built isolation unit set up in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to treat patients who are exposed to certain serious infectious diseases.

Residents in Druid Hills are considering leaving unincorporated DeKalb County to become part of the City of Atlanta. According to a report in the AJC, about 4,500 Druid Hills households will begin receiving informational materials about their options in the next two or three weeks, and afterward they’ll complete surveys about their preference.

The Spring Street viaduct that spans the Gulch, that vast railyard and parking lot near Philips Arena, will be demolished and rebuilt beginning in September. According to a report in Creative Loafing, rebuilding the circa 1922 viaduct will cost approximately $21 million.
