The DeKalb County School District is hosting a number of meetings to gather public comment as it seeks to become the largest charter system in Georgia.

The school must submit a petition to the Georgia Department of Education, and needs public input  on autonomy and flexibility at schools and how that autonomy and flexibility can lead to innovations in how students are taught and how the school is governed.

Parents, teachers and community members are invited to five community engagement session:

Lithonia High School – Tuesday, Aug. 26, 6 p.m.

Lakeside High School – Wednesday, Aug. 27, 6 p.m.
