The Atlanta Police Department is investigating at two smash-and-grab robberies this morning in Buckhead, including one at Smashburger. According to a report in the AJC, burglers broke out windows at Smashburger and Classic Touch Cleaner, both located in the Buckhead Crossing shopping center on Piedmont Road. While it wasn’t immediately clear what was taken from Smashburger, Classic Touch owner Sanjay Banit said cash was taken from the dry cleaners’ register.

Atlanta-based CNN and Turner Broadcasting are facing significant job cuts, according to a report from CBS46. CNN president Jeff Zucker told staff to expect changes saying, “We are going to do less and have to do it with less.” That has set off a swirl of rumors about the company’s future, causing fear for employees and residents of Atlanta.  Media mogul Ted Turner launched CNN, the first 24-hour cable news network, in Atlanta in 1980. Time Warner’s purchase of CNN has meant more of the news operation moving to New York. 11 Alive is reporting that more than 500 job cuts could happen this week.

The Atlanta Business Chronicle is reporting that online retail giant is offering same-day delivery of items ordered from the website to customers in Atlanta, Alpharetta, Kennesaw, Marietta and Mableton. Customers must select the new “Get It Today” search filter.
