A man and a teenage girl are in jail, charged in the Sept. 12 shooting death of a Roswell man.
Nathaniel Vivan, 20, and a 16-year-old female have been charged with murder in the shooting death of 28-year-old Daniel John Zeitz.
Zietz, of Roswell, was found dead by officers following a 911 call to 5300 Treelodge Parkway at around 9:30 p.m. Officers found Zietz lying on the ground in front of building 5306, shot once on the side of his chest, police said.
A short time later, detectives learned that a man was being seen at Northside Hospital with a gunshot wound to the hand. Brookhaven Police detectives at the hospital interviewed the injured man, who told them he was a victim of a crime in Brookhaven. He later told them he was shot, while he and his girlfriend were at the Legends of Dunwoody Apartments to rob a man of his PS4 video game system that was advertised on Craigslist.
Sandy Springs Police detectives took the female juvenile, who was at the hospital with Vivan, into custody.
Detectives found the .25 caliber pistol inside the suspect’s car that was parked at the hospital.
When detectives interviewed the pair, they learned that Vivan and the juvenile responded to a Craigslist ad for the PS4 and met with Zietz in the parking lot of 5306 Treelodge Pkwy. Police said Vivan, who was seated in the driver’s seat of his car, struggled with Zietz, standing outside the car, for the PS4. During the struggle, the juvenile fired one shot from the .25 caliber gun, and the bullet passed through Vivan’s hand and struck Zietz in the side, police said.
Detectives also learned that the juvenile’s infant child, approximately 16 months old, was in the suspect’s back seat of the car during the robbery and shooting. The child was later turned over to relatives of the juvenile.
