The North DeKalb Greenspace Alliance is hosting a town hall meeting Thursday, Sept. 25, at 7:30 p.m. to support the preservation of 28 acres of woodland as “passive greenspace” on the west side of Clairmont Road across from PDK Airport.

The meeting will be held at Clairmont Baptist Church, 3542 Clairmont Road.

Until several years ago, the land served as a runway protection zone for the airport.

The land is no longer needed for that purpose, and the FAA has recently approved the airport’s request to transfer the parcel back to DeKalb County, the original owner, placing the land’s future use in question.
