NAPPS (North Atlanta Parents for Public Schools) is holding its first community meeting of the school year on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at noon at the Jackson Primary Campus, 4191 Northside Drive.
Each local school system in Georgia must choose an operational system model by June 30, 2015. The Atlanta Public School System is planning to submit its letter of intent at the beginning of November. There are three main options to choose from: IE2, Charter & Status Quo. Each model varies in flexibility, waiver limitations, governance, performance evaluation, fiscal impact, contractual partners and length of contract. Models will go into effect for school year 2016-2017.
Angela Smith, Special Assistant to the Superintendent, will present the options. A Q&A panel discussion with Smith, along with Robert Stockwell, author of the blog financial-deconstruction.com will follow.
Attendees are invited to bring their own lunch. Drinks will be provided by the school. All community members are welcome to attend. For more information, email email@example.com.
