Two Emory University students are in critical condition after being hit by a car, according to a report from our media affiliate CBS46. Witnesses said late Tuesday morning, a car was attempting to make a left-hand turn at Clifton Road and Gatewood Drive when oncoming traffic hit the car. Students who were standing on the corner were struck. The students were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.

The East Lake Farmers Market has closed after five years in business, according to a report at Decaturish. The Market, which was held every Saturday from April through November at the corner of Second Avenue and Hosea Williams Drive, closed for the season on Aug. 1 “due to changes in personnel.”
